So just before the new year, I decided the gluttony had to stop. Normally I eat when I'm happy, sad, angry, bored, etc. With the BFP, then m/c, I gave myself even more permission. After literally busting out of a pair of jeans and having a dream I was at the doctor and he was telling me I was diabetic (strong presence in my father's side), I joined weight watchers online. Not the first time, but I'm really trying to plan ahead with activities this time.
I'm trying to come up with a list of alternative activities when I'm happy, sad, angry, bored, etc. I thought it'd be a good idea of these activities were somehow otherwise good for me. I love bubble baths and giving myself pedicures. My list includes a lot of that kind of self-care stuff, but I was wondering what ideas others might have? Not just self-care ones either. I don't want to be too narrow. I really just want to distract myself. My list is as follows: bubble bath, manicure, pedicure (both in home), full body moisturize, facial, exfoliate, pore strip, teeth whitening, wax/pluck (not fun, but productive - especially given that I'm italian), deep condition hair, clean jewelry, schedule appts (MD, vet, hair - I always put this stuff off), clip cat nails, eliptical/lifting (have the stuff at home but would rather do it at gym - could aspire to this), board/card game with DH.
Any other ideas?

It's great that you're steering towards a more positive lifestyle. Good for you for joining WW!
Some ideas can include redecorating a room in your home or fixing a broken (blank) that you've been meaning to repair. If you're looking for a new hobby there's photography, scrapbooking, or knitting...the list is endless

If I'm tempted to munch the best thing I've found I can do is get my sneakers on and go for a walk. Not only does it help with weightloss, but it tends to leave me feeling better and reminds me of the work involved in undoing those munchie calories.
If I'm not able to do that brushing my teeth seems to discourage munching.
Drinking water, crocheting...pretty much anything that keeps my hands busy keeps the hand out of the chip bag.

Love your ideas so far! And good luck with WW! Great motivation!
Do you like puzzles? lol. Seems weird, or maybe a little senior citizen oriented, but DH and I have just gotten into it accidentally. Haven't done one since I was a kid, but MIL bought us one. It's 1,000 piece. It sits on our breakfast table ready and waiting! You'd be surprised how time consuming it can become. And when I'm sitting down doing the puzzle I completely lose track of time and my appetite! It's slightly addictive, but relaxing as well.
Also, if eating is more of an oral fixation rather than hunger, try gum. When ever I get the munchies, I usually find a piece of gum.
Other ideas...reading, jogging, bike riding, craft projects (they have small step by step crafts you can by at Michael's if you're not super creative)...
