Question for you: I've noticed in a few posts about pumping that you make the statement, "Frozen breastmilk has a small fraction of the benefits of freshly expressed breast milk - which has a small fraction of the benefits of milk from the breast itself."
That kind of makes me, and probably other EPers, kind of wonder, "Why am I doing this?" I'm not trying to be contrary - I'm genuinely wondering if all the work I'm putting into pumping for my son is worth it. I'm spending 2+ hours a day pumping BM because I thought that is best for him. But, honestly, even our own pedi (whom I like and respect) didn't seem too swayed that BM was vastly superior over the long haul. The ironic part of this is that, when we were planning on adoption, I had no problem with using formula. But since I ended up with a biological child, I feel compelled to give him BM - if only because I can. Sorry to ramble, but I'm really curious if in all cases (like for EPing and using frozen milk extensively), is BM really best???? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and sorry for the format. I'm on iPhone.
2 years TTC with 5 losses, 1 year recovering, 6 months applying for adoption approval, and almost a year waiting for a placement. Then, a miracle BFP at age 36!
