I know about the whole 4 month wakeful thing. So far I think we've avoided that *knocks on wood*. But DD has been eating like CRAZY today! She normally eats every 3 hours like clockwork, and her bottles will range from 3.5 - 6oz. Today she starts fussing like she's hungry every 2 - 2.5 hours, and her bottles have ranged from 6 - 7.5oz!!
I hope I'm not over-feeding her, but she is giving all her usual hunger cues, and she's drinking it all down where usually she stops when she's full, even if there's milk left in the bottle. Did anyone else go through this around 4 months?
Re: Is there a 4 month growth spurt?
OMG, I am RIGHT NOW.
Mason is EBF and had always eaten every 2.5 hours like clockwork and would go one 6-8 hour stretch at night. Since 3 weeks ago he wants to eat every 1.5 to 1.75 hours during the day and EVERY 2-3 HOURS throughout the night. I don't think his is a growth spurt though because I thought those lasted only a few days to a week, although there is a 4-month growth spurt: https://www.kellymom.com/bf/normal/growth-spurt.html.
Sorry I don't have any advice other than that--only sympathy. LOL.
My LO acted like it for a couple days this week. Ate even more often than his usual every-2-hr nursing during the day and woke up 1-2 times at night to nurse whereas he usually STTN. I'm hoping we're through the worst of it now. Hang in there!
Zoey just started doing this as well!
I definitely say its a 4 mo growth spurt, or at least I hope so b/c my little peanut needs to GROW!
