Who is finding it hard not to remember to do them but to do them in general. If I go pee I can if I concentrate hard stop the pee mid flow but to be honest when going to the bathroom stopping is the last thing on my mind. So I try to do them while sitting or whatever and I can not do it! I dont know how to find and use those muscles at all. I did a prenatal yoga video yesterday and the girls like now for kegals and talked about holding first the lower then the middle then the upper and releasing. I tried, I failed, I also have no idea what she is talking about
Am I the only hopeless case when it comes to these? Am I doomed come laber and recovery if I just dont do them?
Re: Kegals- am I the only one?
I thought it was funny that my Kegel alarm went off on my phone while I was reading you r post!
I noticed it gets easier the more I do them. You must be doing the Shiva Rea video. I try to do it like the video form time to time, it is definitely harder but I am getting the hang of it. Keep up the hard work and I bet you will see a difference.

It takes time to develop them. Once they are developed well, you might understand what they mean. If you don't it doesn't really matter.
When you do them, u want to try to pull all your vaginal muscles etc tight. Up high as you can (about the pelvic bone). If you simply do not understand what I mean....try to squeeze your husband tight and hold the next time you have an intimate encounter.
I am at a loss for what lower, middle, and upper could mean! I thought I read/heard somewhere that you can't do them wrong- I'm not sure if that's true, but it makes me feel better about what I am doing. It's also easier for me to think about what muscles I would clench if I have to pee, not to stop the stream (which you really aren't supposed to do anyway). Also, when I was trying to figure them out, I found it helped to put a finger in my vagina and make sure that I could feel the tightening. Obviously you aren't going to do that every time, but it made me feel more like I knew what I was doing.
Even if I'm doing them wrong, I'm certainly strengthening some muscle!
I didn't do them last time and I made it through labor
I'm doing them on and off this time just for the heck of it though. It can't hurt to try.
How long do you do it for each day?
The workout video I use has you imagine a building with multiple floors. You flex the muscles and hold, then clench tighter, imagining going up a "floor" and then hold, then do it one more time imaging a 3rd floor. Then you slowly release going back down the 3 "floors." I am pretty sure that is what OP is referring to.
