I see so many posts referring to the different wraps by their given names like old and new friends, and I am just wondering where I start looking for my first new friend? Where do the names come from?
I like to wear blues (like sapphire/ royal blue kinda color) and rich reds (not so much bright and pink ones, more on the side of burgundy)...

Re: About these beautiful woven wraps...
sounds like one of the new Giras from Metrominis could be a good friend for you. I think there's one with blue/burgandy and another color...off to look
Also the blue marine Neobulle is a beautiful color
Yes I agree the metrominis sound like they might suit your tastes.
I think girasol has a broad range of colours to suit different tastes, from pastels, muted autumn colours, fresh spring colours, rich jewel colours through to neutral creams and browns.
You'll be surprised how quickly you get to know the names of different colourways, and if you really stalk the FSOT boards you'll get to the point where you can look at a pile of wraps and know what they are without looking at their names. or possibly, I'm a bit obssessive :-)

They are like old friends ;-)
I agree hanging out on thebabywearer boards is the best way to learn what's what. In the Chatter Wrappers Paradise forum, there are threads for each color wrap - just do a search (unlike the bump, the search there works!).
Vatanai Kipawa is a nice blue - not quite sure if it's the color you want but Vats make wonderful newborn wraps, especially for summer. Vatanai Koira is a lovely red combo and so so soft! Didymos just released a burgundy indio that's supposed to be on the thin side too which would be a nice newborn option. Girasols are nice for newborns as well as they are super soft - but they wear a bit more warmly than Vatanais.
