I hope you are doing well and that little Zachary is doing better.
I have been meaning to ask you a few things. You don't have to answer right now since I know you probably don't have a lot of free time!
How has Ella been with the baby? Did you get another crib or move her to a big bed? Do you find it hard to spit your time between the two? Since our girls are so close in age and the timing between baby #2 is pretty close, I wanted to see how it's going since I'm really nervous! Keira is my best buddy and I'm really nervous about the c/s, having special time for just the 2 of us, and how it will work with scheduling. I will have help from my mom who is coming out for 5 weeks. I just don't want Keira's life to completely change. We have such a great routine and special snuggle times and I am worried that the baby will change that. I'm hoping I can still figure it all out and we can find a good balance!
Glad to hear in your other post the c/s was not too bad. I'm having a repeat as well and I'm not looking forward to not being able to pick up Keira. That will kill me. At least the recovery won't be as bad as it was with her.
Re: cate
Ella is doing pretty good with the baby. She's mommy's little helper - whether it be throwing out a diaper, covering him with the blanket, or getting his hat from the other room. I do find it hard to split time though - especially since I'm BF and I forgot just how much the LO's BF! It's been hard when she gets home from daycare she really wants to snuggle, but I'm usually feeding Zachary. We've gotten into a routine of watching Sesame Street for 30 minutes when I nurse him. There have been a few times when she has gotten annoyed and told me "mommy - no Zachy" but that's been when I've been wearing him and she wanted me to hold her. It's very sweet watching her give him kisses on his head and giving him a hug. We've had to change our routine up a bit, but not too much. The whole not picking her up has been hard as well as her sitting in my lap at first b/c of the incision (she has a tendancy to want to sit as far back / as close to me as she can get).
It's great that your mom will be here for 5 weeks - having my mom her has been the best for both Ella / I. She moved down her from PA so she can build / maintain a relationship to Ella / Aydin (and now Zachary). It's been sweet watching that form. One thing I have come to realize that Ella just rolls with it all. For some reason I thought there would be rebellious time, but she just goes with the flow (although wait until Zachary wants to play with some of her toys - I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune!)
