I registered for 2 of an item in colors that are only available through BRU website. A friend got me the item in a color that was available in store - which was fine b/c i would have still used it. But now I have received the 2 in the color I like off the website from friends that live out of state and shipped their items - so I don't really need to have 3 of these things.
In order to return the item that came from the store - do I need to add it to my registry and mark it as purchased? I don't have any gift receipt or proof that it came from BRU other than the fact that I know it did b/c she told me as such. I don't want to hurt her feelings by knowing that I returned it, so I don't want to ask her for a receipt.

Someone got me the wrong size Halo Sleep sack. I wanted a small in the fleece, but they got me a medium. I took it back without the gift receipt and they took it. However, they did give me a merchandise card, not cash, which was fine because I still needed to get the small sleep sack.
Maybe if you bring the item in and say someone got this off the registry but in the wrong color, they may take it back.
