DH and I used to argue because I would complain that he wasn't helping out enough around the apartment, and he would say that my standard for cleanliness was "different" than his..lol. So we decided he would have set chores (which happen to be what I hate doing) and I would take care of the rest.
He takes out the trash, cleans the litter box, and scrubs all of the pots and pans. I basically take care of the rest. He does his own laundry and I do my own. It works out really well having set chores.

We share all the chores, although there are some I definitely do less than 50% of the time. He mostly mows the lawn, and takes out the trash. I do it after a lot of procrastinating. I also do more washing up. Everything else is 50:50.

DH cleans out the cats' litter box, takes out the garbage, and washes his CFD and airline uniforms. I do most laundry, but he's a little OCD about how he wants his uniforms dried, lol. Everything else we take turns on.
I am very lucky and grateful that MH does most of the chores. He lived alone for quite a while before we moved in together, so he was used to cooking and cleaning for himself. He enjoys cooking, and doesn't mind cleaning, while I hate both, so it works out well! :P We have always done our own laundry, which I am a huge fan of and highly recommend! DH doesn't mind doing the larger share of the work at home, because I've always worked more than him, usually 55-60 hours week at least. Plus I was taking grad classes up until recently. He is great about understanding that he has more time and energy do get stuff done, since I'm "bringing home the bacon", so to speak.
During the summer I pick up some of the jobs just because I'm off school. I also do all the bills, shopping, and any general errand-running.
My DH takes out the trash, cleans the bathroom, fixes things, makes dinner sometimes (when we want something good to eat

He doesn't really do anything unprompted, except taking out the trash, but we share that duty. When it's full, we just take it out. He will, however, do anything I ask him to do to help clean. He mostly likes the vacuum, but there's nothing on his faulty Y chromosome that alerts and subseuquesntly urgers him to to a messy house.
We pretty much share responsibility, although I would say that I cook and do the laundry more and I definitely do the all of the dishes. He takes out the trash, mows the lawn, does the cat litter and helps clean the bathroom. I am more of the organizer though, he tends to leave stuff lying around...

kidding, he takes the trash out and mows the lawn. That's about it. I've tried to get him to rinse his dishes and put them in the dishwasher, but he rarely does.
I get home from work hours before him, so out of fairness I try to do the housework. I don't mind it, I'd rather relax with him when finally gets home. He's lucky though... I can honestly say he wouldn't even know where to find a vaccuum or toiler brush!

He takes care of the yard work, takes out the trash, changes the cat box, and fixes stuff. I mostly do everything else, but he cooks a couple times a month, does dishes sometimes, laundry if I ask and helps clean the house when needed.

DH usually mows the grass and shovels the snow while I pull weeds. He usually takes out the trash and takes the dog out more than I do. Other than that, everything is 50/50--if I am up cleaning then he is as well.
One thing we both enjoy is getting the groceries together and working on the house and cars. I want to learn as much as I can about everything, so we are remodeling our house together (put up new gutters over the summer) and fixing our cars when something is wrong (I changed my own oil, brakes, and rotors over the summer as well).
He does most of the yard work during the spring/summer, but nothing really inside the house. He did try to organize the garage and hang shelves, but they all fell down and he quit...our garage is a disaster area

Inside, if it does not consist of tying flies for fly fishing in his 'man cave' it is left to me. Unless he is building me shelves or something like that. Well....he will take out trash once and again when I ask him to. Usually I do it myself.
