This is not a name I am considering, but a friend on FB is naming her son this and I wanted to know what the board thought of this name. Thoughts? Reactions?

I immediately thought Viking. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. In my mind I said "Viking....okay then"

I think it's a nice name, but I grew up with a kid named that so it doesn't seen as strange to me. I think you usually say it like leaf but, but he actually pronounced it Lafe even though it was spelled the same.

I think of Leif Garrett. Not a bad thing, just the first association I have with it.

I like it but I don't think I'd ever use it. I went to HS with a guy named Leif (pronounced Leaf), so it's not that weird to me.

I definitely think of Leif Garrett, who is currently on Celebrity Rehab and having a very hard time with it.

Leif was one of our top boy names. I love it, however neither my hubby or my mother did. Rafe is another alternative, it was my top boy name. rhymes with Leif and it's a classic English name
