Moved the crib today...

I moved DD's crib into our other bedroom today. If she hadn't cried all the way (it is on wheels and she was sitting in it) I would have cried... After having her crib in our bedroom and bedshared part time we agreed that we needed to try something else. One major problem has been that I think we were waking DD up when going to bed ourselves. We are super-silent but she still wakes up just around that time and I thought it might be our noises. Secondly I accidentally discovered that the sound from downstairs, which has always disturbed her a lot (like DH sneezes downstairs and she opens her eyes!) but in our other bedroom the sound doesn't travel in as well. I hope this means that our television watching and chatting won't wake her up in the evening.

Anyway, I am really sad about it and I know that I will be going in there 7 times during the night to look at her and she will still likely end up in our bed at one point or another during the night (she wakes up 3-4 times). Wish me luck :-)

  • GL mama! The first night we put DD in her crib to sleep, I don't think I slept a wink. I actually ended up grabbing a sleeping bag and sleeping on the floor, hee hee!

  • I hope she gets a good night of sleep. We were so sad when we moved DD but she did well. So well that it didn't make sense not to continue with it. The family bed still exists pfor early morning nursing and cuddling and when she's having a rough night.

Good to know, I hope she will do well.

Yeah, you got the 'no whey' picture back, it is so cute, always makes me smile :-) And btw, you handled that little silly picture dispute so well a couple of weeks ago that I didn't even want to continue discussing...

  • I love the No Whey pic too :-). It is my background on my phone and my desk top wall paper at work. However, she is already starting to look older and it is only a few months old. I notice your ticker is getting closer to 1. Isn't it crazy?

  • Good luck, mama! My baby was in her crib in her own room for the first time last night as well. We made it from 8 to midnight (she woke up 7 times :( ) then she came in bed with us.

  • Thanks everyone. For some odd reason it turned out to not really be me who has the biggest problem, at 11.30 pm when she woke up 2nd time, DH went in there and picked her up, brought her back and put her in between us in bed! I was like shouldn't she be in her own bed? But when she fell asleep again we were both out and she just ended up staying there the rest of the night. Oh, well, slow start :-)
