Since it looks like I will be on track to start IVF in Feb/March I decided it was time to just come out and tell my bosses about our situation. I wanted to make sure to give them plenty of notice because my job is not one where if I don't come in my work just waits for me. They actually have to find someone to fill in for me and there are only 4 other people who can do my job right now.
I have two guys that are my bosses, one that does the schedule and one that signs the checks. They were both very cool about it and said I shouldn't worry about it at all, they will make it work no matter how short staffed we are (and we are really really short staffed right now). My boss that does the schedule even said that he would personally come in for me anytime I needed (he is one of the four) which means a lot to me. Apparently his wife even got PG off of Clomid for their second. It was kinda funny because he asked if I had tried that yet, and I just nodded and said yup, 7 times. He kinda looked stunned at that.
So that is one more thing off my shoulders. It feels good getting all my ducks in a row to start this thing.
Re: Came Out to My Bosses...
Glad it went well!
I know the feeling of relief...I've had to be very open with my boss about all of our treatments and, looking back, I can't imagine what it would be like if I hadn't told her...
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
(ticker warning)
Good for you, hon! I know it must feel so wonderful to have that little bit of stress off your shoulders now.
And funny how your boss asked if you'd tried Clomid yet. I had someone say something similar when I first started TTC....I had done a couple rounds of clomid and femara and had moved on to injectibles, and this lady I know said I should just try clomid- that she took it once and got knocked up. Um, thanks. Tried it. Failed. I will follow my doctor's advice now.
Good luck, hon!

I am sure it's a huge weight off your shoulder. I am glad they were understanding. And too funny you said yep 7 times. I mean it's great he "gets" it, but I hate when people are like oh, try clomid, or I knew someone who took clomid. When you get as far as IVF clomid is like a distant dream. I actually skipped that totally, but it still bothers me everyone thinks they were IF or knew someone who had IF and clomid was the miracle drug.
BUT, good for you for coming out!!
