DH's grandmother passed away on Monday, & the funeral was today. It slipped my mind to post this check in this morning. Anyway...
One of the 7 B's of AP is Balance. From Dr. Sears:
"In your zeal
to give so much to your baby, it's easy to neglect the needs of yourself
and your marriage. As you will learn the key to putting balance in your
parenting is being appropriately responsive to your baby ? knowing when
to say "yes" and when to say "no," and having the wisdom to say "yes"
to yourself when you need help."
What have you done to maintain balance this past week?
Re: Balance Check In - Sorry It's Late, Funeral Today
Sorry for your loss - funerals/deaths are hard, but so much more at this time of year.
I recommitted to my choir at church. I haven't sung with them since Ella was born, and I missed it so much. Now that we aren't nursing anymore, there is no reason that I can't be there for practice.
I was all geared up for practice yesterday - been singing with the CD in my car since Sunday, and then it snows and practice is cancelled. It just means I have to be at church at 7 on Sunday. which will definitely cut into the sleep factor, but it'll be worth it!
I am so sorry for your loss.
We went on vacation last week with the IL's. They were giving us a night out for Hanukkah, they were going to watch DS, were giving us money toward show tickets and we were going to do dinner. We were sooo looking forward to it. Unfortunately, my FIL got really sick and our night out ended up being at the local hospital. Luckily my FIL is okay but we are still really disappointed to not have had a few hours to ourselves in Vegas.
