Frustrated with weight loss (or lack thereof)

I took two months off to lose weight. I mainly ate salads (with no dressing, mind you), lean protein and generally followed SB with no straying (except for Christmas and NYE). I exercise every day  for half an hour and I do not starve myself. I drink plenty of water daily. I am gaining weight. There's no way that this is muscle gain or starvation mode gain. WTF is wrong with me? I am so beyond frustrated with my body.

Re: Frustrated with weight loss (or lack thereof)

  • I know the feeling, for sure.  I would have thought that if you weren't consuming enough calories than perhaps your body has been in 'starvation mode' but I take it back since you said you aren't starving yourself.  I have tended to just skip meals altogether and it hasn't helped anything.  My body fights me tooth and nail to drop any weight at all, but I definitely attribute that to not only to my weakness for carbs but also to my PCOS.  I wish I could be more help to you.  What type of workouts are you doing, btw?

  • Sorry I have no advice. It sounds like you are really giving it your best effort. I hate when that happens.

  • Thank you, ladies, you're so sweet. It's just one of those days when I feel bad for myself. I wished I was one of those persons who can eat whatever they want. I hate the idea of eating salads for the rest of my life when I love food so much.

  • Ugh, I'm so sorry.  I don't think there's anything wrong with you at all -- sometimes our bodies just don't respond like they should.  I'd recommend changing up what you're eating.  Maybe try different types of veggies or different complex carbs than what you've been eating.  I'm certainly no expert, but that's worked for me in the past.

I applaud you for sticking with your diet and exercise that long.  I've been "thinking" about losing weight since my BFN in Nov and haven't done anything except gain an extra 10 pounds.  :-(

  • I'm so sorry, it does sound so frustrating. I hope you get some good insight. I think TBL has met with a nutritionist and has been very pleased with the changes that were suggested.

Maybe I should do that too. I think I've tried everything else out there.
