last night, we put ds down on a pnp mattress on the floor of his playroom. he slept there for 2 1/2 hrs until we moved him. he would have kept sleeping. the second his head hits the mattress in the crib, he's up. does anyone here think that a crib mattress is just too hard and that's why?
i wonder about a floor mattress. does anyone do this? please explain. or does anyone's LO still sleep in the pnp?
Re: random suggestion for those whose LO's will not sleep in the crib
LO hates his crib and i'm pretty sure it has to do with two things. 1) being confined 2) it's not comfy.
We usually end up bedsharing (we have a futon in his room) in the mornings after he wakes around 3 or 4 till he's up for the day around 7. And Full time bedshare when he's sick or teething.
We actually started putting him down for naps on the futon because he sleeps SO much better on it. If we tried to put him in his crib as soon as he feels us lower him down or his little body hits the crib mattress he's awake and crying.
As soon as DH and I are comformtable we'll be switching him to the full size bed his crib turns into, with a nice comfortable pillow top mattress for him.
Thats what we thought too, we started taking a fleece blanket and wrapping it around the crib mattress and tucking the edges all under (so it's like a fitted blanket), that has helped a little too.
My mom did buy LO a Chamois Crib Sheet that is oh so soft and cuddly from PBK from his Bday.

I for sure think that is why my DD did not like the crib. And I know you aren't supposed to do this, but we did it anyway...we put on a mattress pad. It made her crib a softer and much more comfy and she naps in there like a dream.
Below is the one that we use. We had originally put it in our bed in case my water broke in bed. I wrap it around DD's mattress, then put the fitted sheet on.
