At our 12 week NT scan, the ultrasound tech told us that she was pretty sure we were having a boy. She was right! Of course we spent the time between 12 and 20 weeks wondering if we'd gotten all hyped up for a boy and then it would turn out we were having a girl. I think at 17 weeks... especially since they are saying boy... that they are probably right, but I wouldn't start buying any gender-specific clothes just yet. Better wait until the official scan to be safe!
I would be very cautious about this. We were told at 16 wk 5 days that we were having a boy. Nope she is all girl. At least i am pretty sure but at this point I wouldn't be surprised either way. We have had 4 u/s since then where they have all said girl and i see no boy parts.
My H really really wants a boy. He is the last of his name and was over the moon the day the doc said she was a boy. I was worried he was getting his hopes up early and he took it VERY hard when we found out she was probably a girl. He tried to hide it but I could see he was upset for a few weeks after that.
I don't think it is worth it to go through the heartache of getting it wrong. Trust me, once you find out you have a lot of time to enjoy it and anticipate it. It is worth waiting those few extra wks to be sure.
my sister found out at about 17 weeks that she was having a boy. They were pretty sure about and I think she did have a follow up a few weeks letter and he was still a boy. I didn't find until 20 weeks and their was no mistaken his boy parts. I mean the only time anyone can be totally sure on what it is, is in the delivery room.
We had a 3D/4D u/s at 13 weeks for our NT Scan and they told us we were having a boy...and they are correct! We've had many more after that have confirmed a boy. Also...we did not have u/s tech confirm it at 13 weeks...we had a Perinatologist.
