My DH has been offered a promotion that will move us to Texas. He has to start really soon. I am going to stay in FL with the girls for a while until our post placement visits are done in the end of February.
Has anyone moved during their adoption process? Our CW said that we just need to stay for our post placement visits, but I wondered if it would slow down the court finalization process.
Re: Moving Before Finalization
All you'll have to do is physically come back for the finalization, unless your state allows your attorney to stand in for you. Ours does not (you have to testify), but yours may.
As long as your social worker has access to you for the post-placement visits (which it sounds like you plan to stay through those), you should be fine.
Thanks, I will send you a PM.
Thanks MrsB, Our agency can have an attorney stand in for us at court. They offered to do this for our first finalization, but we wanted to go. It was only a two hour drive, but I don't think we will want to fly back this time.
