Re: still no movement - anyone else?

  • Early movements are described in many ways: fluttering (of butterfly wings), tingling, rolling, waves, bubbling,  or just a sensation that something shifted inside. If you feel any of these are where your uturs is, its likely the baby.If you haven't felt it yet, don't worry. First time mom's take longer to feel the movement (about week 20). Also the placement of the placenta can disrupt  your ability to feel the baby (usually about 23 weeks).

  • I still can't feel anything that I know for sure is movement.  Doctor said it was normal and that I would probably feel something by my appointment next month.  My scans have all been good so I am not worried.

  • I think may have felt something once or twice but I really don't know for sure what it was so I'm counting myself in the I Haven't Felt Anything camp.  It is totally normal to not feel anything yet.  Even at 22+ weeks there are people who don't feel much if anything, especially if you have an anterior placenta.

  • I am just about 19 weeks and finally started feeling LO..but it took me a little while to realize. I kept feeling "waves" in my belly and i realize now that its the baby! ha i am sure you will feel your LO move soon, my doctor says that for first time moms the norm is close to 20 weeks, some even longer.  So dont worry!!! Do you have an US coming up soon? i just had mine and found it reassuring bc i could see her moving sooo much, so it made me realize everything is ok!  DONT WORRY :)

  • No fluttering, bubbling, nothing. Zilch. Oh well. Anatomy scan on the 17th. Praying all is going well.

  • 18 1/2 weeks and haven't felt anything.  I have heard 20-22 from several friends, so hopefully I will feel it soon.

  • I thought I felt her once but that was it. But I have ananyerior placenta so my midwife said I might not feel anything until 22 weeks.

  • Haven't felt anything yet, but I expected not to until about 20-22 weeks.
  • I felt a bubble-like feeling New Year's eve and then nothing again until yesterday, when I felt the same thing. And since I am not sure if this counts or not, I am also putting myself in the didn't feel anything camp. Hopefully we start feeling something stronger by 20-22 weeks.

  • I felt a flutter about two weeks ago that I was pretty sure was LO but nothing that I have been sure about since then. I have moments were I worry and then talk myself off the ledge. We have our anatomy scan on the 11th so that will make me feel better and I am almost 19 weeks so I am hoping very soon I start to feel stuff more.
