3rd Trimester

Big Feet anyone?

Yesterday I had to run out after work and purchase two new pairs of shoes (black and brown) as I have seemed to grow out of my shoes overnight.  I literally thought that my poor toes were going to fall off!

I went from a 5.5 to a 6.5.  Ugh.  Luckily I found inexpensive flats at DSW, but it just sucks that I had to buy them anyways. I couldn't avoid it, I try and get away with Uggs at the office but, when I'm out at appearances I can't :(

Anyone else experience foot growth? LOL

  • My mom's feet grew. It's fairly common because the relaxin in your body that helps your hips to spread helps other body parts to spread also:).

  • Yep, my feet have gone up at least a whole size.  I haven't bought any new shoes yet, though, because I've got a lot of foot swelling, so I"m not sure what size I am exactly.  But I was up a whole size before the swelling started.  Thankfully, I'm in Texas and flip flops and crocs have gotten me through so far.

  • Mine grew 1.5 size up. Bought 2 new pair of flats and it's been working out. Just one more month left, so I'm not buying anything new.

  • I ahve had three previous pregnancies and each time my foot grew half a size luckily they haven't done that this time around I would hate to have to replace my shoe "collection".

  • Yep.  I went from a 6.5 to an 8.  I try to look on the bright side, I get to buy all new shoes!  But I am going to wait several months because I have read sometimes feet go back to normal and sometimes they stay bigger.  Plus my feet are really swollen so I don't know what size I will end up.  As long as you have a few pairs of comfy shoes to get you through you'll be all right.  Have fun buying those new shoes!
  • this hasnt happened yet but I am afraid of it because I didnt want to end up stretching my shoes now and then not being able to wear them again because they would be to big when my feet went back to its original size.  I figure I'll be in Uggs these last few weeks.

  • yup. and I started out a size 9 (i just under 5'3" and was 109 lbs when i got pregnant, yet still had a size 9 wide foot. attractive.)

So now my feet are that much more "attractive." thankfully its winter and I can hide them for now.

  • LOL It could be worse. I went from a size 11 to a size 12. Cause I definitely needed bigger feet!

This is my big fear. I'm an 11 pre-pregnancy. So far it doesn't seem like my feet have grown. I do have a pair or two of shoes that seem tighter, but it could just be a little swelling (though they don't look swollen).

As much as foot growth is not fun for anyone, I just can't feel that bad for you if your feet grow to a size that is still average-ish.  Finding 11s is already sucky (though not as sucky as pre-Internet shopping, when I was a middle school kid with size 11s)... finding 12s would suck SO much more.
