Polyp on lining

I had a sonohistogram today as a part of prepping to do an IVF eventually. They found a polyp on my ut lining. I have to have it removed before I can meet with the RE to discuss the protocol for IVF. Frustrating, but it's good that it will be removed and possibly lead to a BFP because the lining will be free and clear of obstacles. But I'm a bit nervous about the procedure. Has anyone had it done?

Thanks!

Re: Polyp on lining

  • Hey there :) I've had growths removed via laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. I wrote about my lap here. The hysteroscopy was an easier procedure. Best of luck to you! I hope it goes smooth!
  • I just had two removed last Thursday. The lap/hyst isn't fun, but it's certainly no where near the worst discomfort or pain I've ever felt. You may have some gas pains in your abdomen and shoulders and the incisions will be tender but otherwise, for me, it feels like AF cramps. I think it's good you're having these removed before your IVF cycle as this will give you a better chance of a BFP after transfer. Good luck!!!

  • Thanks! :)   I am actually happy that it is being done because of the possible link to polyps and IF. I sooo hope that it all leads to a BFP!!
