Anyone to answer Lupron questions?

I'm not sure where else to ask this as reproductive healthy people don't have to take lupron. I have endometriosis, and have been on a 6 month course of depo lupron. I stopped it in December, and am still waiting to get my period. How long should I wait before I need to start a med to kick start my reproductive system again? Thanks! Hope this is the right place to ask.

Re: Anyone to answer Lupron questions?

  • Hi! I was on Lupron for 3 months and I think from when the 30 days are "over" from your last injection it took 45-50 days? I'm not really sure since there isn't an exact date to count from.

My cycles post lupron where longer for the first few months. No one told me this so I got worried. My average cycle could range from 35-45 days but has shrunk down to 28-31 days now. Good luck!

  • It's so nice to hear something nice about Lupron! Before it, I had really irregular periods that would last weeks. I'm really hoping it makes my periods better, and praying it will reduce the pain. I'm getting sick of living on pain killers! I'll keep my fingers crossed AF comes soon. Right now I'm about 30 days.

Also, did anyone have good luck getting a BFP shortly after lupron? I'm worried about the endo growing back without being on BCP or anything.

  • I have only taken Lupron in conjunction with an IVF cycle  - I actually had an unusually short cycle on my first IVF - 23 days.  I started Lupron on CD 21 this cycle and got my period right on time at CD 28.  I hope it helps with the endo!

You have 5555 post. Hahaha what a great number. Just to clarify my long cycles were after lupron which then went back down to my normal cycle lengths. I'm not sure if a lap plus lupron will help if you have a pre-existing condition of long cycles.

My last shot of lupron was April 2010 and they said I would be "super fertile" their words not mine. It's Jan 2011 and I have yet to get a BFP. I was also told that most women post lupron would get a bfp within 6 cycles. :o( Not the case for me but I hope it is for you!

  • Thanks for the help! It's nice to talk to someone who actually understands it. Kind of sad I'm no longer a 5555 anymore! haha
