Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Toddler hunger strikes?

OK, so I've heard toddlers go through stages where they don't each much. LO has been doing this for about a week now. She hardly eats a thing all day. We keep sitting her down at typical times & offering her several different kinds of things (most of which she rejects outright; some of which we're lucky to get a few bites into her). Her diapers aren't as heavy wet as they usually get, but they are still wet.

How long might this go on, and when should I get worried?

  • We allow our son to "graze" off a plate that we set on the coffee table - for breakfast and lunch. He actually will eat everything on the plate (or close to it) - much better than he does if I put him in his high chair. also - our son eats very well. He LOVES Veggies and that is always the first thing he eats off his plate!

  • my daughter has always been a very light eater. I might get one meal down her. She usually refuses breakfast completely. She always drinks plenty of liquids so i never worry about dehydration. i give her gummy vitamins (pedi approved) b/c i know she isn't getting everything in her diet.

good luck! it is frustrating when they constantly refuse food.
