Infertility

Stupid, stupid question....(Sulfa, it's about you!)

What does it mean to be over-supressed?

I was just reading Sulfa's website and she mentioned having a low AMH.  Her RE changed her protocol and took her off of birth control pills b/c they over-suppress her.

How does that help AMH?  How does it help with quality and quantity?

Re: Stupid, stupid question....(Sulfa, it's about you!)

  • I have a very low AMH of .16.  Unmedicated my AFC has been varying between 3-7.  I suspect that the BCP caused a significant drop in her AFC.  Not sure if anything really works to help with quality.  With that said, I've heard good things on this board about estrogen priming protocols. Trying again without BCP is all about getting a better quantity.

  • Not a stupid question at all. :) Trippleb is right, I started responding poorly to injects, and the doctor thought the birth control was exacerbating the problem.
