Need Disneyland help/advice/tips

Ok ladies, as of now we are going to be taking the boys to DL in a couple of weeks. WOO HOO!! I'm very excited but since our last trip was pretty much chaotic and not so pleasant, I am already mentally preparing myself for glitches. ;) I know my usual routes/lands to go to first in the park but that was without kids! ;) I don't know that they'll be able to keep up with me if I do that to them, lol.

I've already checked into getting the best deal on tix (so far AAA since they include free parking and have 3 day park hopper for the price of 2 days). We don't need lodging as we'll be staying in Newport Beach and just driving in.

Can you guys recommend helpful hints on how to tackle the park with two little ones? Which lands first? Best places to eat? Best bargains? And if anyone has any ideas or tips for kids with ASD?

I'm sure I'll be adding more questions as I come up with them. TIA!

  • I don't have specific answers, but have heard other moms are able to get line-hopper privileges for their families when going to DL with kids with ASD (I know it isn't called line-hopper, but can't think of the right title).  Worth checking out to cut down on time in line.

Have fun - I can't wait to go again!

  • The best eating deal BY FAR is the Big Thunder BBQ (near Big Thunder Mountain).  Make reservations!  It's $20 per adult, and free for kids under 3.  Unlimited ribs, chicken, beans, cole slaw, cornbread, and drinks!  (We even ordered hot chocolate!)  So fantastic to not have to fight for seats and wait in line for the same old burger and fries.  Definitely recommend it!  But be sure to make reservations!

Yes, just go to "City Hall" and request a disabilty pass.  They will ask for whom and for what, and will give you a pass for the day or days you will be there.  You then don't really stand in lines and will go through the exit to ride rides.

Thanks I had heard about the Guest Assistance Pass...I still feel kinda awkward asking for it but even the teachers & therapists working with my boys have all recommended it. I guess it's worth a shot! ;)
