I went to the doctor's office this morning and it turns out that I had a really awful UTI and that it was thisclose to turning into a kidney infection. So after a 5 minute lecture on why I should have gone to the urgent care over the weekend and giving me an antibiotic, the doctor went out and got my mom so that she could hear the heartbeat (she is a nurse at my doctor's office). The heartrate was 148 and the baby kept kicking the dopplar wand, it was so cute

I can't wait to see it in 8 days!

Re: Follow-up to pain in the side
I replied to your original post with my *fun* time kidney infection at 14 weeks -- I'm so glad for you & the baby that you were able to avoid it!
I've been doubling my water intake since then (the OB said it would help to prevent another infection) and paying VERY close attention to my body. I, too, had a UTI and didn't know it, so we have to be extra careful!
Take care!!!
