Emergency advice needed please

Hi...happy new year everyone.

my babysitter is AWOL....no response, nothing. Luckily, I had already scheduled to work from home today, but this is the first time I've had to do this with no babysitter.

I'm in the middle of a 4 hour conference call meeting....right now I have my cell phone on speaker and mute.

I have blocked the family room with a safety gate and turned on Sprout. DD is fed, bathed, and dressed, and I'm hoping she'll just be entertained by toys and TV....horrible I know, but i don't know what else to do.

Am i doing ok? Any other suggestions? Please help!

Clarification: I only got on the Bump to ask this question: but since my job requires me to be attached to my computer, this isn't that big a deal. I just imagined someone saying "so why r u on the bump?"

Sounds like you're doing fine.  My boys would never let me get away with a 4 hour conference call meeting! 

I'd save any significant work until nap time, but just keep doing what you're doing.  Maybe give her some new toy to play with if she starts to seem disinterested?  I can always count on a mixing bowl and wooden spoon if I need to keep the boys entertained and distracted.  I guess it's the novelty of it.

Ha! I'm so not getting away with it in a matter of speaking. It is actually almost impossible for me to listen in on this call while watching the baby! I'm praying they don't address me directly.

I can't wait for naptime. Its coming soon LOL

Sounds like you are doing everything you can. Hopefully you are not required to participate much on the call. I agree with waiting till nap time to do any significant work. I know I can never get anything done when LO is awake!
