Hey everyone, Just got my BFP last week and I'm looking for a new doctor. I think I'd like to deliver at St Vincents so I want someone affiliated with them if possible. Thanks!!
I just really like the feel of St. Vincent's... it's smaller and more intimate. I'm also a pharmacist and know some of the residents and doctor's at both locations and that tip the scales even further towards St. Vincent's. What did you like about UMass. I know a couple of people who delivered there who weren't all that impressed, but I've yet to hear any less then pleasant experience at St V's
I thought the nurses were great--I was having probls BFing and was besides myself cuz of it; one nurse stayed w/me for 3 hrs; I was impressed. I had an unplanned C-Section and everyone did a great job keeping me informed, calm and comfortable. The rooms were nice, the food was good and DD got great care.
I delivered at St.Vincent's and Mary Scannell was my OB. A lot of nesties use her and her group, and I was very happy with them. I liked delivering at St. Vincent's and my only complaint was the lack of lactation support but now they do have a part-time lactation consultant.
Thanks, I called and got an appointment with Mary and so far it's been great. I had some spotting and they got me in yesterday for blood work. And looking at St V's website it does say they have lactation support now- not quite sure how extensive it is though.
Hi. I see Dr. John Farricy at St V's. He is the chief of OB there and is awesome and he has a great CNM Cindy working with him! I know he works with the Scannell group for on calls. I saw Dr. Scannell for years as my GYN and felt as though she was dropping the ball a little so I left. Maybe she went through a rough spell. I'm sure her team is great too who knows she could end up delivering my baby if she is on call and that would be ok. Good Luck! Suzi
Re: St Vincent's affiliated OBs?
can I ask why you chose StV's? I delivered at Memorial and can't rave enough about them....
