You're going to get completely mix reviews on this here- mostly don't do it. There are some success stories on this board (or maybe more likely Natural Birth board) but I've heard a lot of bad stories too, like getting really sick first. It's not worth it.
Try sex, nipple stimulation (got a breast pump?), and walking. Those are safer methods.
2 of my sister's did it when they were over due... and it worked both times so idk I guess if you can live w/ going to the bathroom a lot i don't see why not.

I actually took some yesterday and had absolutely nothing happen...not even diarrhea.
Took more today and still nothing...
I was terrified I would explode but literally nothing, everyone is going to react differently but I'm convinced my LO is stubborn and I'll be induced on Wednesday.
You may want to look into way better natural ways before you do that! I personally would not prefer having Diarrhea while pushing the baby out! Poor baby, what a crappy way to come into the world!!!
I had a friend that did it, and it worked but she also said she had diarrhea while and after the baby was born! After I tore with my others, I was terrified to go #2, but to have it like that would be even worse!
I've heard of this before, but I'd be afraid to take anything that sent me into labor even if I was past due. The problem I see is if you tried it, how much would you take? Do you know? If you were normally taking caster oil you would take about a Tsp. So I doubt taking a Tsp of caster oil would send you into labor. Assuming this works, you would probably have to take a lot of it which in that case I would be afraid.
My SIL used Castor Oil with her 3rd baby. She mixed it with orange juice, and it made her have a few contractions but then stopped- so she took a double dose in OJ again that night and got the same result. You just can't make your body do something it isn't ready to do.
I drank it twice.. the first time it didnt do anything. the second time i tried 2 tablespoons mixed with cherry pepsi (it really doesnt matter what you mix it with- its pretty nasty stuff)
anyways I drank it before bed (around 11pm)
had contractions when I woke up around 6am.. and they pretty much lasted all day- but never sent me into true labor.
as far as the diarrhea stories you hear, that didnt happen.. I had one loose (not diarrhea) bowel movement in the morning.
