So DD is starting to show signs of being ready to start potty training. She uses BG 3.0, but she is starting to say "no! potty!" many times when I am changing her diaper (meaning she doesn't want me to put a new diaper on, but would rather run around half-naked! She doesn't really have accidents, and will sit on her potty, but so far, won't actually pee unless she has a diaper on. We will have to work on getting her to use the potty!) I want to try training pants, but have no idea what kind. I figure that they would be different enough from diapers that she wouldn't mind having these on (and a little easier to pull down when she needs to go).
Any help would be appreciated!
Re: Tips for potty training, rec. your training pants
My biggest tip for potty training is NOT to use training pants DD went straight from diapers to underwear. She did hate diapers towards the end, but I figured that gave her motivation to learn to use the potty!
We did buy one pack of disposable pull-ups that we used in situations where an accident would have been a MAJOR disaster (like on our 10-hour plane flights to/from Europe), but we only needed that one pack -- much cheaper than even ONE pair of cloth training pants.
It's worth pointing out that she almost always peed in her pull-ups when she had them on. She seemed to know when she was in something that would make a mess if she peed and when she was in something that would hold the pee -- and if she was in something that would hold the pee, she would pee, without even trying to use the potty. That's another reason why we never bothered with cloth training pants.
