the directions on the angelcare monitor say to put it on a flat surface under the mattress. the video shows that you should put it on a board if the surface isnt flat enough. Well pack n' play's dont have a mattress and are not as flat and sturdy as nursery cribs. So I was wondering if the anglecare worked as well in a pack n play and if so how? LO will be in an infant sleeper/pack n play in our room at first so I wanted to use the angelcare.

We had this exact issue and while LO isn't here yet to fully test our solution, we are doing the following:
Flip over the pack n play mattress/pad so that the flat board slats are facing UP. Then put the Angel Care motion sensor on top. We found a pack n play/bassinett/crib/changing table replacement "mattress" pad at Babies R Us that was the correct size for our pack n play ($30 or less, I think and about a 1/2 - 1 inch thick) and placed that on top of the Angel Care motion sensor. LO will sleep on the additional "mattress" pad.
Hope that helps!
well I wont be watching her 24/7. I will be sleep at some point or in another room or downstairs. The anglecare monitor has a 20 sec response. Call me a bad mom but I wont be looking in on her every 20sec.
Since I already have it I may as well use it. I was just wondering if it worked as good in a pack n play (or the likes) as it would in the crib.
Can't you pull the wire through the mesh on the side of the pack n play? That's what we plan to do....
The monitor goes off if LO stops breathing, so yes you would still use it even if baby is in your room with you.

exactly...its not a regular sound monitor. It monitors movement and breathing.

Hmmm...I may consider making a TINY cut in the mesh to fit the end through...
I know what it does. I guess I just don't think it's necessary to use with the LO 2 feet away from me. Yes, I'll be sleeping at some point, but I don't expect to sleep very well. And, I don't plan to leave her in the PNP all day... I guess everyone's different though.

so basically you have no idea how the angelcare works in the PNP??? LOL Sorry I'm just laughing because I dont recall asking if anyone thought it was necessary.
That mesh is practically impossibe to rip, unless LO is the Incredible Hulk, however point taken. I'll try to tuck the wire as well as possible, but it will have to go over the top of one of the sides to plug into the monitor. By the time LO is moving around and there is a risk of him getting to the wire, he'll be sleeping in his crib. Basically, I want to use the motion sensor regardless of whether he is in a PNP in our room or in his crib in his room.
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to give my opinion on a public forum...
