Okay, I found it awhile ago, but it was when I was stuck in my endless mastitis loop and couldn't actually go. I'm waiting to hear back from one of the leaders about the next meeting. We go to a couple moms groups now, but especially as DD gets older and we start having different challenges I'd love to find some people with an AP mindset. I'm really excited! lol.
Re: Found a local AP group!
I have seen a few San Diego AP groups online but not gotten around to contact any yet, so thanks for the heads up. Perhaps I should try out the meetup groups later on? Would be nice to meet up with others as LO gets older.
Where is it? Is it close to me too? It would be fun to meet up!
Don't get me wrong, everyone was really nice to me, but I walked from our apartment to the park for the play date (a little over a mile with hills) so I had DS in our BOB stroller. I was the only one there with a stroller and I got some looks. I don't feel like I measured up to their standard of AP.
Wow, I guess that why I like this forum, people are generally open to different levels of AP. If something doesn't fit you and your family, there is no 'pressure' and plenty of support to do what is best for you. Knowing San Diego's distances I think it is perfectly reasonable to use a mix of strollers and BW. In fact I wish that DD would like her stroller a bit more as she is getting really heavy lol. Today we went for a 3-4 mile walk and I carried her the whole way because she does not want to be in her stroller for more than a couple of minutes.
It's in Hooksett, unfortunately it's probably about an hour from you? I live in southern NH so it's only 15-20 mins from me. I checked the API site to see if there are any in Maine, but there weren't any listed, maybe there would be on meetups? Funny there are no AP groups since you guys have BW groups and there are none here in NH!
Hooksett is a hike. I was hoping you'd say Dover or Portsmouth. I wish there were more active like minded mom groups in the area...as I'm not from here. I realize now that I have a baby that all I did before the baby was work (I used to work 50-55 hours a week).
