Do you wrap in the summer?

I have a Didymos - the really long one.  Right now I really like it.  However, I'm afraid that come summer time it will be too darn hot to use.  What are your opinions, and if you used something different what was it?  TIA

Re: Do you wrap in the summer?

  • I bought a Vatanai recently as it's gotten really hot here and it's so much thinner makes a huge difference.

I also have some shorter wraps for doing a basic ruck tied in front, which means I'm not wrapped up in fabric and so the weight of fabric doesn't matter so much.

I use my vat for double hammocks.

  • I wrapped last summer with my Ellaroos. They are thin and airy. I'm getting my first Vat soon, I've heard they are good for warmer climates too.

  • Yup!  I like thin wraps anyway and use lots of single layer carries - kangaroo and rucks.  This summer I'm sure I'll be wrapping outdoors more than I have in the past since I'll have a toddler who loves being outdoors - my Vatanais, Ellaroos, and Bali Baby Breeze will see a lot of action!
  • I probably wrapped more in the summer becAuse we were out and about more. I used my vatanais mostly, especially for multiple layer carries, but for rucks, etc. I used all kinds of medium weight wraps (storch, didymos, zara...) I also used ring slings a lot during the summer.

  • i have a wrapsody water wrap that's really light, and it has spf in the fabric! my rule for last summer was if it's too hot to wrap, it's probably too hot to go out :) if i *had* to, and it was too hot even for that wrap, i wore a mei tai. i much prefer wrapping, but i have one mt; it was less fabric on me, and even though the front panel is heavier than a wrap, it fits her more loosely and the sides are open to the breeze.
