Fever help?

DD just woke up with her first higher fever - 102.7. We gave Ibuprofren and took off a layer of clothing. Anything else we can do?

If we do a bath, what temp?

If you do a bath, make sure it's not cold. Make it a good luke warm temp.

Recheck temp in an hour or two to make sure that the ibuprofren is responding. You are to give Ibuprofren every 6 hours, but if you have break through fever you can give tylenol too. It's a different medicine and it can help bridge the gap between ibuprofren doses. It's safe, and sometimes such a life saver.

When DD's fever got over 103 they said Tylenol or Motrin, stick to one (Tylenol was recommended), dress lightly, and a lukewarm sponge bath.  Luckily it broke very quickly, GL!

Thanks for the responses. It broke and she seems to be OK now, I'll be calling the pedi for sure Monday though. Hope you all had a good New Years!
