has anyone else done this or thought about doing this?
I feel kind of silly, but I figure someday it will be fun to hold up the belly to me and remember what this was like.
I wanted to wait a little longer (read: to see if I'd get bigger), but with all of the craziness today I was worried they might not be inside babies for much longer.
ETA: Okay we just finished this and I'm SO SO glad I did it, I just cried my eyes out. I'm so uncomfortable and ready to be not pregnant that I completely lost sight of the fact that this might be my only pregnant belly and what an amazing miracle it is that I'm even here. Plus, not going to lie, it's pretty incredible to see what my belly REALLY looks like.
I highly recommend doing this! The kit cost me $20 at BRU (and I used a 20% off coupon for it, so I only actually spent $16) worth every penny.
Re: making a cast of my belly tonight
deanne - I woke up at 5 a.m. with contrax, woke my H up at 7, we decided that we'd call the doctor's office when it opened at 8:30. I was contracting about every 15 minutes. I took a bath and called the doctor and, of course, they are closed for the holiday.
We decided not to page the on-call just yet since the contrax were still so far apart, I had no bleeding and my water didn't break.
Around 10 a.m. I was able to go back to bed, and woke again with contractions at noon. Called the office/on-call OB at 1:30 and he tells me I can't do anything until my contractions are 5-10 minutes apart.
So all day I've been getting these runs - the closest they've come is 15 minutes apart and then they just stop.
I still have a crazy feeling that I'll be at my normal OB appointment this Wednesday, but I have hope that they are actually trying to come out now.
honestly it's just going to end up in a box in my basement, but I thought it would be cool to see later on in life and maybe when my kids are older for them to see as well.
Niki, that sounds really scary. I hope that doesn't last for too long. I have this fear that I am going to go into labor and not know it's the real thing. I have so many charley horse type cramps in my inner thigh/groin area and I keep getting them more frequently. I wonder sometimes if that's the prelude to the real labor pains.
Some people paint the casts and hang them on the wall but I think it might clash in your beautiful nursery, lol. You could use it to tote laundry, just kidding! I think your kids will be amazed when they see it one day!
Oh, it's not scary at all! It's really exciting
I'm not in pain or at least not too much. I'm just so stinking anxious. It can go on for days or even weeks I heard, but the menstrual like cramping is a sign that my cervix is changing and preparing for the birth, so I have hope that they'll be here in the next week or so. Keep your fingers crossed.
And trust me, when you are starting to contract YOU WILL KNOW. There is no mistaking this LOL.
Haha - When we had our birthing class, I told the instructor that this was one of my biggest fears! She laughed at me and said not to worry. That when it really happened there would be no mistaking it

Diagnosed PCOS & MFI-Success with IUI
Glad you did it - although prof pg pics are so very NMS, a cast might have been neat to do - I already forget how my belly looked and wish I'd taken more pics.
You're getting so close now!
