Sunshine Kids Radian owners

When the seats are installed rear-facing do they take up a ton of room?  We're getting ready to buy convertibles and I'm worried that the driver and passenger will be squished (they'll be going into a Subaru Outback wagon).

  • They take up a lot of room rear facing. I would think your best bet would be to try one out in your car before you buy, if you can.

  • Yeah, I think it depends on your car.  Ours are reclined quite a bit and take a lot of room, but it does not constrict the room for driver or passenger in my Ford Edge.

  • We drive a Volvo XC70, and though I haven't been in an Outback recently, I think it might be a little bit more compact.  You have to try it out though.  For us it's a tight squeeze.  I'm 5'9" and feel a little uncomfortable, but it's not too bad.

I think there's a shorter seat that's also narrow (like Radians are) called Cocorro, or Corocco ;)
