I had a dr apt last night and showed her a bulging vein on my leg. She said it is a vericose vein that would prob. go away after delivery, but I should wear support hose every day to help. It doesn't hurt, but looks pretty gross! Anyone else use support/compression hose? Where did you get yours? I saw that they have them at Motherhood Maternity for around $8, but saw them online for $30 and up. Is there a difference?
Better stockings will cost more. I have Jobst stockings that are 15-20mmHg compression, which offer more support than the ones you'll find in Motherhood. I got them from footsmart.com (specifically these - I have 2 black and 1 nude-ish pr https://www.footsmart.com/Product.aspx?ProductId=395&cm_vc=recs_pp_ct)
I've been wearing them since 20 weeks, and have no new varicose veins (I had one pre-pregnancy). I also find that my legs don't get as tired as they do if I don't have them on.

6 month stats: 20lb 11oz (92%tile), 30.12in.(100%tile - who knew it went over 99th? Which means 100% of other 6 month olds are shorter than mine!)
I have a pair of compression stockings that my mother gave me, they are prescription grade like the pp. I have found they are much better than the ones you can buy in the stores. I have worn both. When I see the OB next I have to get a note to get some of my own.

I also wear the prescription grade and they have made a world of difference for me. My most severe issue is right around my knee, so I wear the thigh highs. I bought T.E.D. hose directly from their website for $20 and they offer free shipping. Definitely a good investment.
She recommended the full length type that are like pantyhose. The vein that's bulging starts in my thigh and goes down my calf. I don't know if knee-high styles would help as much. Any thoughts?
I have a vein in the same spot. I had it prepregnancy as well. I went to see a vein specialist and she reccommended the full type too. I would HIGHLY suggest the prescription type. They are more expensives (mine were $100) but some insurance will cover them.
