Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Baby Weight

My baby is now a toddler, and I really want to lose the baby weight for my 2011 new years resolution. I am looking for a weight loss plan that includes diet and exercise and is affordable, realistic, and effective. For those of you who have succesfully lost your baby weight, would you mind sharing your secret with me. TIA.

Re: Baby Weight

  • I lost most of it breastfeeding.  The remainder came off with Weight Watchers which is easy to follow and a good way to change your eating habits, rather than "dieting".   If you want to jumpstart your exercise routine, try the 30 Day Shred.  It will kick your butt, for sure.

  • I will recommend weightwatchers to anyone.

  • Weight Watchers, for sure. Their online program is under $20/month and has amazing tools and resources. I'm not sure how expensive the meetings are, but I would suggest attending at least one or two to get an idea of how the program works if you're new to it.

I agree with pp about the 30 Day Shred (Jillian Michaels). It sounds simple, but it really kicks your butt. I'll be dusting off my copy after the 1st of the year!

  • I agree with ppers. Most of mine came off with BFing, but I was still super flabby and I needed to tone up. I did the 30DS and it really tightened everything back up. Since summer I have gotten lazy and put a few pounds back on so I am going to do WW and 30DS starting Jan 2nd. I have used weight watchers in the past and it is a great program.
  • It's hard, we all know!  Looks like you're taking the first step so congrats.  Do you think you might like to run? That's really all I do, plus one or two strength training sessions a week.

I signed up for a half marathon when my second was about 6 months old. Having a goal and a commitment to work towards was what it took for me.

    GL!

I also did the 30 day shred, walking, hiking.  It is hard but you have to stay active.
