Luvs New Design? Severe Diaper Rash... Help!

DS began using the new Luvs diapers yesterday, when I picked him up from school he had the worst diaper rash I have ever seen.  We kept him diaper-free until bedtime and then used vaseline and an overnight diaper, his bottom was still pretty red this morning. 

Has anyone else experienced an allergic reaction or a really bad rash from the new Luvs diapers?

We have used Luvs for over a year without any issues but one day in the new design and he was in so much pain last night he couldn't even sit in the bathtub.

DD gets severe diaper rash anytime we try a new diaper.  I think for her it is less about the contents of the diaper (we use Pampers Cruiser w/Dry Max and have no issues) and more about the way they fit.  I think her bottom is accustomed to the way the pampers fit and the Luvs and Huggies we tried just rub on different parts of her skin than the pampers.

We just bought a new pack with the new design, and no problems yet, I'll keep a look out though, that's strange.

P&G that makes Pampers makes Luvs too. I am not trying to be an alarmist by saying that as I never used the dry max on my LO but what did they change about the diapers? Are they using a similar dry max technology?
