Stay at Home Moms

What are you doing for NYE?

It's looking pretty likely that we'll be at home.  2 of the friends that I would love to go out with are staying in that night, one is pg and the other, her DH doesn't feel like going out.  I could go either way.  I don't want to go out without a plan with friends, but part of me feels a little holiday crash coming on.  My house is a disaster, we're suppose to get MORE snow on Thursday into Friday and I just can't seem to get caught up on day-to-day stuff.  The weekend after next we have DH's 30th bday party here at our house, the weekend after that, DD's bday party.  I just want some normal for a little bit, does that make sense?  Maybe I'm getting old?  Lol.

  • I think we'll be staying in.  We were tossing around the idea of going to a friend's house for a little party, but both babies are getting sick and I woke up sick this morning.  I have a feeling my house will be in even worse shape after the next two days and I will be craving some much needed normalcy.  Also, DH has been out plowing for two days now and left to go back out again this morning at 2:30, after sleeping for just 4 hours.  I have a feeling he won't be up for a party.

  • We've got dh's parents here and mil is cooking a roast on new years day. We will probably stay in NYE and avoid the madness. I doubt I can stay up. Ds2 is waking every hour in the night!-wait so I probably will be up. :-(

  • We are going to dinner with another couple early, and then heading to a small gathering at a friend's house (DD is coming with to both).  I think we are going to come home well before midnight, though.  DD will likely burnout around 9 and NYE isn't such a big deal to me that I need to kill DD's day Saturday by putting her to sleep in a strange place fri night, then waking her up to come home, then putting her back to sleep when we get in...I'd rather just get home, do our normal nightly routine, and DH and I can stay up or wake up in time to do the countdown :)
  • Throwing a dual birthday party for my best friend Becky and my DH. I usually host NYE every year.

  • Probably staying in.  It won't be the first time.  We had a friend offer to babysit for us but we just don't feel like going out.  We debated having a party, but again we just don't feel like it.  We're lame :)

  • Sit at home! lol

I usually make the same meal every year, but not sure I'm doing that this year.  So broke!

  • We are hosting a few friends and their kids for a little party. Games, food, fun!

Before everyone arrives I am making dinner just for DH and myself. We are having lobster tails and opening the bottle of Dom Perignon that I got as a baby shower gift from one of DH's co-workers. Celebrating a wonderful first year as a family.

  • We're staying in.  We got invited to a party, but I don't want to ask any of our family members to watch Ben so that we can go out.  I don't want them being out on the roads if they don't have to be.  And quite honestly, NYE is my least favorite holiday, so I'm quite content to stay in my nice warm house, watch a movie with DH and drink champagne.

DH and I were talking and said that next year, Ben would be just shy of 4 years old on NYE, so maybe he could have a 'sleepover' at my parent's house if we decided that we wanted to go out.  We'll see...

  • We are just staying in. NYE is just not a big deal for us. We have not been out on NYE since we had DS and that is okay with us. We would rather just stay in and watch a movie, have a glass of wine and just chill.

  • We seriously considered getting a babysitter and going down to the Borgata in Atlantic City - Joel McHale is doing a show there that night and I looooove him.  But we decided to be boring and just stay in, maybe go to the Mummers Parade the next morning

  • We are still trying to figure out what we are going to do, if anything.

I don't want to leave the house with DS- so a little gathering is a good answer to that, but then other people have to drive.  and with the next snonami possibly on its way we don't want to put other people in danger either...

so home with a movie and probably crash at 10.  :(  I feel so old.

JP was born in March 2010. We love our little guy so much!! Hope to add a little sister for him in the future.
  • Hosting a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband!  I am excited but man I cannot wait for it to be over.

Normally we'd be like a lot of others, having some family time and probably not even staying up until midnight.  :)

  • We are going to friends' for an early supper and to watch our kids play.  They are new friends and I'm really happy to be invited to this party.  We'll probably be in bed asleep by midnight, though.

DH also makes a big New Year's feast of super-yummy Southern food and I can't wait.

  • We are staying in. My stepson is going to his best friends house around the corner for a sleepover. DH, DS1, DS2 and my stepdaughter and her boyfriend will all hang out here and eat and play games. Oh yeah, and lots of wine for me! :) Happy New Years to you all!
