Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

So far, So good...

Well today is day one of trying a 1 nap schedule. So far they have done great which has floored me. The got up about 6:45am, got their milk sippy and breakfast at 7:30. They got a small snack about 9:30am. They got a little fussy about 10am so I opened the gate to the kitchen (usually they are confined to the dinning room and living room) and immediately they perked up. They played in there laughing and playing with pots while I organized the cabinets and made lunch. They ate lunch at 11am and played until 11:35am. DS started to get a little sleepy so at that time I just put them all to bed. It took less then 5 mins for everyone to fall asleep (huge improvement!).

Now it's just a matter of seeing how long they sleep and how the rest of the day goes. Thanks to everyone for all the help, suggestions, and advice in this area!

  • That is great!  We are trying to get Keira to sleep in her toddler bed and she woke up 4 times last night but went back to sleep after laying with her a little while.  It was a small win but she was in her bed until 8am!

  • You are braver then me. I am so dreading the toddler bed phase. I can just see them torturing each other in the middle of the night...lol. I wish you tons of luck and will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Update on our day: They slept for about 1 hr 45 mins. Not bad although I hoped for 2 hrs. They look so happy and refreshed though! It has been awhile since they have been like this after a nap. They are currently sitting on the floor drinking sippies, snacking, and babbling at each other... how cute... Now just to get through the rest of today and tonight <crossing fingers and praying>
