My SIL who has a 4 month old was whining about her post- pregnancy body. I'm already 21 months out.
What has pregnancy left you with up to this point? (yes I'm picking on the negatives)
Me?
Despite all of that, I've never felt better about myself.
And, go!
Re: Non-clicky poll: re: a year + later
Pros
Bigger bewbies!
I've lost all 53lbs I gained during my pregnancy plus another 10lbs, but I have a good 40lbs before I'm to my goal weight *sigh* At this point, I consider losing 63lbs over the course of a year to be a huge PRO!!
Cons
Stretch marks (hip to hip, upper thighs, bewbies *sigh)
Flabby belly below my belly-button
I have to say, I really only have a few complaints.
Back hurts more often
Boobs deflated from nursing *6m
Hair & periods not the same in a bad way.
All in all I weigh less than when I got pregnant! that's a plus!! No stretch marks and a small c/s scar (scarred with love)
The thought of concieving again right now scares the crap out of me for reasons of what happens while preggers and then nursing (body occupied 9+months!)
-Saggy boobs
-Stretch marks all over belly
-C/S scar which isn't very visible
-bigger feet (none of my old shoes fit)
-The most perfect little man that makes my life wonderful!!!!
None of the negatives matter b/c he was the end result. I would (and hope to) do it all over again.
I'm not too bad anymore. I have really faint stretch marks on my boobs and inner thighs. The hip ones that looked like a tiger attacked me are gone.
My boobs are lower and less full, but it doesn't bother me too much. A good bra makes it a lot better. And I still have a slight pooch on my tummy. But I weigh less than I did pre-pregnancy.
Stretch marks below my belly button. Thankfully they're fading, but still visible.
My c/s scar is non-existant, thanks to my amazing surgeon.
Less than attractive bb's. Thanks breastfeeding!
A muscle injury to my right arm, thanks to lugging 2 boys + gear around. I honestly think I tore the muscle, but just haven't gotten around to getting it looked at yet!
I'm down to my pre-pg, post-fertility treatment weight, which is still about 10 lbs. above where I'd like to be, but I have no time to worry about it right now. Plus, all of the weight has shifted to new places, so my old clothes still don't fit right, even though they used to fit at this weight!
I'm only 5 months post-partum, but I want to play!
My tummy, butt, and boobs are flabby. Other than that....all good:) I still have about 5 lbs. to lose, but I don't really care if I do.
you girls got away good...
I have a saggy belly.. skin I hate it, it is also covered in dark stretch marks! I will never wear a bikini again!! I have done the 30 day shred and am in good shape, just this baggy belly I can't get rid of.
and .. hemorrhoids.. awful! Stilll awful!! I pushed for 2 hours... didn't tear, but ugh hemorrhoids are awful!!! ... sorry if thats TMI for some!
but my boobs look decent... my nipples now point down, instead of up, but that's not a big deal to me! I guess nursing for 11 months has it's tolls!
but everything is worth it! Bikini's are over rated... and DD is 100% worth it!
I had a small chest to begin with, so I'm even smaller since weaning a few months ago. It doesn't bother me though--I am a runner, so it may even be a plus...
No stretchies, but I am not dumb enough to think they won't come next time around. I gained 27 lbs, and lost it within a few weeks. Most of the weight gain was due to pre-e-induced water retention though.
I can't sleep to save my life. I've never been a good sleeper, but I have a crazy fear of something happening to DD in her sleep, so I'm constantly getting up to check on her. Lexapro is helping a bit with that. Also, we start the day at 5:30. sigh.
My once curly hair is now just like troll doll hair. Not straight, but no longer curly. Flat ironing is a must.
I wouldn't change it for the world though. I love DD, and I especially love the toddler stage. I'm nowhere near ready to TTC#2 . I had pre-e and was on BP meds for 2 mos. postpartum, and those sucked. Also, I didn't love the newborn stage.
A flat butt! It is ridiculous that I no longer have an a$$ to hold up my pants.
My C/S scar is still pretty noticeable and I carry a nice little flab under it.

LO #1 - Took 2 years and 2 IVFs ~ DX - severe MFI mild PCOS homozygous MTHFR (a1298c)
LO #2 - TTC 7 months, surprise spontaneous BFP!
Tiny boobs. I was rocking my preggo/breastfeeding boobs, but after I dried up they shrunk smaller than my pre-pregnancy boobs.
The dreaded c-section scar and fat cleft.
A terrible stomach. I used to have beautiful abs and very little belly fat. Now I have a muffin top even though I'm the same weight.
Thin/stringy hair with short hair "horns" and "mullet." I haven't recovered from the post pregnancy hair loss yet. My hair looks horrible in a ponytail.
Pros
I'm thinner than I was pre-baby...gained 18 w/baby, lost 40 after baby.
Cons
My boobs are so sad looking now....Rocks in tube socks.
Stretch marks on my hips
Frizzy hair around my hair line from new growth after losing a ton of haor 3-5 months pp.
Back pain from carrying LO around
I am back to my pre-preg weight and have been for a while. But my stomach which used to be totally flat now has a layer of flab on it.
My boobs are a size smaller and pancake-esque.
Oh yeah, and the hemmies... the gift that keeps on giving.
Thinning hair
(more) stretch marks
mis-shapen body
But really, I just need to lose weight - I can't blame it all on my kids
Flat boobs
Stretch marks that are super faded now (but we're TTC so I'm sure they'll come back)
An extra 5lbs that I don't have time to work off
But... I got the cutest baby in the world out of it! And my relationship with DH is better than it's ever been.
ETA: My c/s scar!
I am pretty lucky - not too much damage.
- I lost a LOT of hair post partum, but it's grown out now to a managable length. For a while I looked like I had a receeding hairline, then I had major frizzies.
- I think my body just slightly widened - like my frame - even though I've lost all the weight. My rib cage, my hips. It's not really noticeable just looking at me, but shirts I wore pre-preg are too short on me.
- I nursed until I got pregnant with #2 so I've never seen my "new breasts." I'm scared!
Prior to getting pregnant this time my only negative was really my deflated boobs from nursing for 13 months..and I have weird little "mom horns" where my hair broke at the front of my head during my pregnancy so there are short pieces everywhere that never seem to grow.
I am keeping my fingers crossed this time around..I had no stretch marks with DD and so far have none this time, I lost all my baby weight before this pregnancy and have gained less this time around than the first..so I am hoping it will come off quickly again. I have no hope for my boobs after DD#2 so for now I will enjoy how huge they are : )
A pooch below my belly button
Saggy boobs
Wider hips
Cellulite that extends down to the back of my knees from my butt
Back pain
Thinner hair
Wider nose
Wider hips, slightly smaller boobs, varicose veins in my legs... But I was lucky and didn't get any stretch marks
Also have a bit of a pooch and streachies on my inner thighs (which are now itching due to my current weight gain I'm sure).
oh let's see ...
1. smaller, deflated boobs.
2. wider hips
3. cavernous/translucent stretch marks on my sides
4. a shitty complexion
5. bigger feet. really.
After my first kid, my boobs were much, much softer (after weaning).
After the second kid, my stomach is wrinkly around my belly button (loose skin), boobs are soft, deflated and heading south.
I feel lucky having my kids so late and not suffering too much. :P
On the negative side: boobs that are slightly saggier and one size smaller than they were pre-pg.
On the positive side: I went down three pant sizes and lost about ten lbs from my pre-pg weight. My arms are more in shape from hefting DS around and I'm more concerned about eating healthy and religious about working out because I'm single now.
And I am more confident because I'm a mom, and I'm raising a little guy on my own. I never thought I could do it but I am!
A "pouch" of fatty, saggy skin between my belly button and nether regions that DH and I have not-so-affectionately nicknamed "What Lies Beneath". I'm not even kidding.
But my boobs are still just as fabulous as before, somehow.
I had a really full butt and now its lost some of its J Lo-ness. My boobs could use some help too. They look like deflated water balloons but I figured that would happen after 8 mths of bf'ing.
The skin on my stomach is not as tight as it used to be either. I feel like I could pull it out a mile away from my body.
Other than that I am pleased with my PP body.
