TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

~*~michrocc~*~

Lady, you must be thinking about getting back on the horse soon, right? After this current cycle ends? Do you just plan to try naturally for a while, or are you thinking of seeing a doc out in LA?

I remember you felt it took a while to get the first BFP. Might not be a bad idea to have DH get a SA (if you think he's the type to respond to the suggestion without freaking out) because they are cheap, fast, non-invasive, and tell you a lot about what could potentially be causing delay.

I'm excited to have you back in the trenches with the rest of us!

  • Hey! Yep, we're starting! CD1 should be here any day now and then it's off to the races...or, in my case, the molasses field where we sit and wait for things to happen. Our plan (such as it is) is to wait 6 cycles and, if nada, seek an RE. We started going down that route in Indy last Spring and it was frustrating because I needed a new Dr. and we were moving and yada yada. We have decided that if I go three cycles without positive OPKs we'll bump that up. We feel like an RE will blow us off if we don't take this time...that's been our experience, anyway. And then we'll go from there. :/ I did bring up a SA with DH and he was receptive. We're both at that place where we'll do what we need to do. I'm nervous but excited. And hopeful. Thanks so much for checking in! I'm on my BB and can't see your chart...are you testing soon? Mwah!

  • Silly you, I am not testing soon or ever! I will be starting my next Clomid/IUI in the next few days, though.

That sounds like a good plan! About the REs dismissing you, I had the same worries, but they were all receptive to working with us after trying for 6 months post miscarriage. They kind of added up the 7 months pre-m/c and 6 months post to get to the year mark. And away we go!

I hope it never gets to that point for you and that you turn into some kind of born-again FH, but it's good to have a plan for in-case.

  • Ah, yes, sorry!  But you aren't actually reading this, because you're in the sunny Bahamas leaving THIS all behind.  Right?  RIGHT?
