DD is 5 months and seems ready for solids ewven though I wanted to wait another month. She's been diving into the spoon when I tried avocado and apple sauce. I don't want to give her rice cereal and am on the fence about oatmeal. I would love to try lentil or barley but I've never seen them either at BRU or Whole foods. I figured I could make my own but don't have any recipes. Have you made either or know of any websites other than wholesomebabyfoods.com that has such recipes? TIA

Re: Anyone make lentil or barley cereal for infant?
It's not a website - it's a book "Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron. Her whole baby food principle is based around a Super Poridge/Cereal that you make from whole grains (brown rice/quinoa/barleyoats/millet...) and adding "wholesome extras" such as ground lentils, split peas, ground flaxseed, wheatgerm....all this extremely healthy (and thoroughly distasteful - to me) food, and since baby hasn't had anything else to compare it to, they will eat this! I have used it with my older 3 and will continue to use it with my youngest soon. It makes me feel sooo good to be feeding them this incredibly healthy food. It's a long book, somewhat confusing, so I have it marked with all kinds of papers, notes, etc. It also has tips for natural cleaning, lots of crafts, recipes etc...
GREAT resource!
