BW questions

I never did buy a good baby carrier and my mom made one which worked great until LO hit 12 lbs and then the straps ripped off- yikes- so all in all he hasn't been worn very much and now I am wondering if I should go ahead and buy the one I want or if it will be a waste of money because he is to big now. I wish I had heard more about baby wearing when I was pregnant and then of course after I was on mat leave and we couldn't afford to buy any extras, well with the holidays over we'll be caught up soon and as soon as I buy a double electric pump (I have a single now and it works but takes SO long), I was thinking of buying a moby wrap since I've heard such good things about it. Any one have any recommendations

Re: BW questions

  • The Moby wrap is really only good while they're around 15lbs or less, so I wouldn't recommend one for you at this point.

If you like the way that a Moby wrap ties you could go for a woven wrap, which is like a Moby but far more supportive since it's not stretchy.  They give you the greatest number of options for how to wear LO and some are very pretty, but the learning curve can be kind of steep.

You could also try either a mei tai or a more structured carrier like an Ergo or Beco.  These options tend to be more DH-friendly.

No matter which you choose, you're nowhere near too late to wear your little one!  All of the options I mentioned should take you well into toddler-hood.  You have years of wearing ahead of you :)
