AR and Choking?

LO has Acid Reflux and is on Nexium. also i put rice ceral in his bottle. He doesnt spit up alot at once and its usually clear but about once (on a good day) a day he chokes when he spits up. its like he cant get it up and tires to sallow(sp?) it but cant, he arches his back and his face turns red. Does anyones elses LO do this?

We have been dealing with this for the past week. And we're also having some projectile vomiting. I don't have her on meds and do not plan on giving her the rice cereal, we bought it, but I don't feel comfortable with it quite yet. She also gags on her spit up/arches her back/ turns red. I am just in constant contact with her Pedi and dealing with it. It's scary, but he has assured me that she will not choke on spit up. Remember if he is coughing he is breathing, just get him upright quickly and keep a nose sucker near by.

glad to know i'm not the only one dealing with this. He's always upright and the nose sucker is next to me at all times. when he was about 2 weeks old he started choking and turned blue, so since then he is never out of sight/reach from me.

LO has choked on spit up a couple times and it is always so scary. My pedi said id sitting them upright doesn't work, to try to lay them across your lap on their stomach and "let gravity do the work." I tried last time and it worked pretty quickly. GL!
