I've been co-sleeping with DS since day 1, pretty much. It wasn't planned, but ended up being what worked out for us. Sadly though, DH has been in another bed for almost the whole time, because there just wasn't enough space for all three of us. I'm thinking of getting an Arm's Reach so that I can sleep in the same bed as my husband again as well as keep DS happy.
That's all just background info though, because my real question is: do you other co-sleeping mamas go to bed at the same time as your LOs? DS's bedtime is around 8-930, and I've just been getting in bed with him at the same time (since he shouldn't be in our bed by himself). But then I lose out on any possible alone time with DH. Or really, any available time at night to get anything done.
I feel like there's probably a simple answer for this, but it has escaped me! Thanks.
Re: Possibly dumb bedsharing question
Edited because I couldn't seem to finish my thoughts.
I nurse DD down and then use the video monitor to keep an eye on her until we come to bed.
DD goes to bed around 7pm and I use the video monitor to keep an eye on her! Luckily she isn't really mobile yet! We plan on transitioning her to a floor bed in her room in a few months so I can still lay down with her if needed!
* Have you thought about sidecarring the crib to your bed so your DH could have more room? We were feeling really cramped as well until we did this and now we love the arrangement! Everything is the same height so it is just an extension of our bed.
I've been reading about this quite a bit on this board, and love the idea. But I don't think our bedroom could really fit our bed + the crib we have for him (which is currently in his own bedroom). Maybe if the bedsharing continues we would have to invest in a new crib? I don't know. But I'll definitely look into sidecarring more.
