How early do you test?

I'm 8 dpo and totally want to test tomorrow, but am trying to at least wait til 10 dpo. How early do you test?

I usually start testing at 10dpo. The earliest I have ever tested is 9dpo.

ETA: I didn't get a +hpt until 14 dpo for pg #2 and I got a +hpt at 12 dpo for pg #3.

I test at 8dpo. Both my initial positives have been at 8dpo and then I confirmed with digital at 9dpo. I have a short LP though. Its only 10 days.

If I had a longer LP, i'd probably wait.

I try not to test till at least 10dpo because anything before that is too early.  My last + was at 12 dpo.

I try and hold out until AF is due...but sometimes only make it to 12 DPO.

My ob has me taking tests starting on 7dpo. Not sure why - guessing so we can up my dose of progesterone or something as soon as we know I am pg. But of course, this is the same ob that screwed up my cycle by telling me to start prometrium before I even ovulated (yes, I am still pissed about this) so who knows? In the past, I got positives at 10 and 11 dpo.

I have gotten a positive as early as 10DPO.  With one of my BFPs though, I was 17 DPO (I had tested at 10 and 12, then I think I just gave up, until I realized that my luteal phase had gone waaaay over anything it had ever been in the past....so, who knows, maybe that one would have been + at 14 DPO; I don't know.  My LP is extremely short - usually 10-11 days, so if I am going to test, I usually do so around 10 DPO.  But it is hard, because 10DPO is extremely early.  Usually if I get a BFN, I feel crushed and expect AF, even though it is possible it could just be too early (which fuels hope, which means I am even MORE devastated when AF eventually comes)....

I have heard that pretty much anything before 10DPO is a wasted pee stick, and if you DO get a BFP at 8 or 9 DPO, you probably O'd earlier than you think you O'd.

I used to start POAS at 9 DPO because that's the day I got my BFP. After a month or two of testing during the school year and I decided to only test on weekends so some cycles I test at 9 DPO and some cycles I don't get to test at all before AF shows. I just can't face 100 9th graders after seeing a BFN.

I have tested and gotten a + at 9 dpo.  I am an early tester, I have started at 9 dpo before.  Although all 3 times I was pregnant this year - I *knew* I was.  This cycle I used a trigger shot and so I have to test the trigger out (it will give you a + HPT).  I should have started a couple of days ago, but kept forgetting to get cheapy tests at the dollar store, so I will start tomorrow at 7 dp trigger (5 dpo).  Once I get a negative test I will try and wait a couple of days to start testing again.

Funny I just came across this post, because I was just thinking the same thing as I read this (it has specifics on various test brands): https://www.ovulation-calculator.com/pregnancy-tests/early-pregnancy-tests.htm I'd been holding off on testing after reading the chart on the TTCAL blog... which was really helping with my willpower!

I was lurking on the Sept. 2011 board, stalking charts, and noticed that a lot of people were testing and getting + tests quite early. So I just did one, it was negative. I remember that in August I did a couple of tests at about 10 and 11 DPO (I wasn't charting though) and it was negative, and then I got a + BFP a few days later at about 15 DPO. So I'm still hoping for this month... I'll try again tomorrow first thing. And the next day... and the next day...

I'm an early tester even though I know it can be a total waste of a pee stick. This cycle I started on 8dpo.

If you do get a BFP please do not post it on this board, as I am guessing your still new (I don't reconize your SN) but on PGAL.

I test around 10dpo generally.  And then again around 12dpo.
