A kind stranger

Today after work I stopped to get gas. I prepaid in cash $11 and the guy in line behind me said "Add a $10 to whatever she has." And gave the cashier a 10 dollar bill so I could get 21 in gas. Some guy I have never met before, just a really nice person. So that was great!

And then also, my sitter wasn't going to be able to watch Andrew today so my neighbor watched him and when I tried to pay her this afternoon she declined and said don't worry about it. So that was great also, very nice of her.

And it is snowing here! Not a lot but more than I would expect to see. I took some pictures of A outside in front of the snow.

  • JEN!!! OMG thats soo freaking awesome. I knew you were having holiday troubles because of your dad visiting but I'm glad today worked out! I love strangers like that, they always come around when you need it. I cried this one time someone bought me a meal and I was in uniform. I was stressed because of E's father, and honestly having just that nice little gesture made me tons of happy! For the record I am working today too.

  • That is so wonderful to hear! I strongly believe in doing nice things for others without expectation. Somehow, I always find myself paid back. Not necessarily the way I gave, but in unexpected ways. It always feels good to be kind to others.

    Merry Xmas, indeed!

Are you on the type of schedule where you work the same days of the week every week no matter what the holiday? That's what my schedule is like but this year I lucked out because Christmas fell on my day off.

  • We work on the weekends because we are forever checking peoples computers for bad stuff, so I work on sundays.
