Got a compliment last night!

We went over to MIL's house yesterday for Christmas, and DH's whole extended family was there.  I was expecting all the usual comments about letting him cry, putting him down, switching to formula, etc., so when his uncle called me over and said "I need to say something to you, and I hope you don't think I'm butting in on your personal life", I was like, oh great, not another one. But then he went on to say that is was obvious how great of a bond DS and I have, and that it is so important to bond early with our children.  He told me that I'm a great mommy, and to keep doing whatever I'm doing.  I hardly even know DH's uncle, but he made me cry because I rarely hear that.

I also actually got no negative comments yesterday about spoiling him!  I was stoked.  We were at MIL's house for nearly 12 hours, and DS did great!  He slept his first nap in a swing, but after that, he either slept in someone else's arms, or in the RS with me.  Everyone seemed to love my RS and commented how great it is!  I think the naysayers were outnumbered last night, so they kept their mouths shut - how could they not when DS was such an angel?!

Yay!  I just tell myself the same people who are critical of my co-sleeping and lack of CIO are telling me what a happy baby I have.  I guess they just don't make the conection!  Glad it went well for you!
