I get an e-mail from my mom saying that a friend's Mom, they work together, told her that my friend has been diagnosed w/ PCOS.

Friend and I have been friends since kindegarten, but lost touch in high school and now just periodically message on facebook.

My question is do I get in touch w/ her or not. I won't say anything about knowing, I figure if she wants to share she will, she knows my situation, I just want her to know the door is open if she wants to talk. I just don't want her to assume I heard and that's the only reason I got in touch w/ her.

I think i would contact her and let her know that you know and are there if she ever wants to talk.  I think knowing another person going through all of this would make it so much easier.  GL

I would probably ask my mother to ask her mother if it's Ok to let your old friend know that her mother shared that information and you are there for her if she needs you.

LBR clearly I was overthinking things, that's just right. I'll tell mom to tell Mrs. M to let friend know I know and if she wants to talk she has my info.

I don't want to intrude but I know how much it helps to have someone to talk to and I want her to know I'm around if she needs/wants to talk.
