Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

And this is where I messed up this Christmas.

I wrapped all Jonah's presents and didn't assemble anything.  Big mistake!  He just stared at all of them like "oh mom you got me a box!" lol.  Then DH and I spent an hour getting things out of the box and putting them together.

Then I knew my mom had gotten him a power wheels.  18 hours to charge the freakin battery! I had no clue! I feel so bad! DS is just sitting on it and he can't ride it.  Lesson learned! I will be opening everything and putting it out next year!

  • I think I'll do that next year, too!

And I really shouldn't have bothered with wrapping the boys' gifts. They weren't classic toddlers who enjoyed opening or playing with the  wrapping paper. ;) They would just stare at it while we opened the present, and then start freaking out while we tried to get it out of the box. ;)

maybe next year get DS a toy with little to no assembly required.  Thats what we did this year.

  • My mom got DS that ATV thing too! I hate to rub salt in your wound, but I opened it a few days ago since I knew it'll need to be charged. DS loves it. He's only 12 months, but he already keeps jumping on it and pressing it button himself to go for a ride. The charging will so be worth it when your DS rides it.

  • Santa doesn't wrap presents here, which was the way to go. He was able to start playing with everything immediately. Bonus: Only one present required batteries!
  • Yeah, I'm not sure any of B's gifts required assembly. Well, the trike did, but my dad put it together a few days ago since it was from him and my mom. My mom had wanted to wrap it in the box and we all said "no way". I wanted him to be able to run up to it and jump on this morning, which is exactly what he did. And then he didn't want to get off for most of the afternoon. Most of his other gifts were cars and trucks that don't require batteries, or books that are ready to go when he is. :)
